3D Blu-Ray Player

Blu-ray (not Blue-ray) also known as Blu-ray Disc (BD), is the name of a new optical disc format jointly developed by the Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA), a group of the world's leading consumer electronics, personal computer and media manufacturers, While current optical disc technologies such as DVD, DVD±R, DVD±RW, and DVD-RAM rely on a red laser to read and write data, the new format uses a blue-violet laser instead, hence the name Blu-ray.
Technically, 3D which is a new feature can be implemented in Blu-ray in two ways:
1. A type of Blu-ray Disc player that is designed from the ground-up to comply fully with the recently adopted 3D for Blu-ray Disc standard. This means that the Blu-ray Disc player must be able to deliver two simultaneous 1080p signals (one 1080p signal for each eye). In order to do this, the Blu-ray Disc play must EMPLOY a new version of HDMI 1.4 that is able to transfer this signal. Of course, it is required that the TV must be able to receive and process this signal.
2. Based on information that may be subject to change as more details come to light, the second way to implement 3D for Blu-ray may be a "short-cut" method that would allow for a downloadable firmware upgrade for some currently Profile 2.0 (BD-Live) compatible players that would make them 3D-enabled.

However, this type of upgrade is at the discretion of the player manufacturer, and as it stands now, no manufacturers have implemented this upgrade except for Sony with its PS3 was the only confirmed upgrade to Blu-ray 3D.

Specifications of different 3D Blu-ray players:
Get a sharp, detailed picture.
Smooth online streaming with a strong Wi-Fi connection.
Share with screen mirroring (with compatible smartphones).
Efficient performance with a dual core processor.
See a new dimension with Full HD 3D.
Super quick start.
Plug-in to play movies via USB.
3D capability.

 ((Advantage))
1- 3D Blu-ray Disc movie can be played on any 3D-enabled Blu-ray Disc player regardless of brand or model.
2- The 3D features can be implemented to the Blu-ray player so no need to spend money on buying a new player.

((Disadvantage))
1- must have a 3D screen to view the images
2- the resulting resolution will not be in high
definition

The introduction of the 3D facility to the Blu-ray players provided them with new characteristics that are attractive to many users and so it made a major step in the Blu-ray manufacturing organisations .
